Evolve your relationship with Death herself.

Led by Lauren Carroll, a Funeral Director, Death Educator, Co-Founder of Deathwives, and Co-founder of La Mort with over 20 years of experience, The School of Sacred Death is the culmination of her life’s work. For the first time, Lauren is offering this advanced container, twice the length of her beloved, cult-classic course Deathschool, which ran for 18 seasons, that weaves together everything she’s learned in her decades of practice.

By the end of this 12-week journey, you too will carry advanced, comprehensive deathwork knowledge and wisdom.

You will commune with the realms of Mystery.

You will deepen your relationship to death and dying.

You will radiate authentic, masterful presence, empowered to serve your family, community, and the world in ways they have never known before.

For the Thresholdkeepers

The School of Sacred Death is small, intimate mentorship, for thresholdkeepers of all kinds. For those called to the spaces in-between… life and death, imagination and form, endings and beginnings. It is for deathworkers and seekers called to deepen their practice and step into new realms of work. It is for mystics and visionaries called to deepen their relationships with the ancestors, the more-than-human allies, and Mystery itself. It is for deep grievers who are ready to reclaim lost parts of themselves from the shadows.

If you want to dive into deep learning, commune with the consciousness of death, and let her evolve you towards wholeness and mastery, you belong here.

This space is for those who know that sovereignty, freedom, and wholeness come from walking with Death - not as something to fear, but as an ally and teacher.

This is a path that asks much of you but gives more in return. This is a call to the deepest kind of transformation, for those who:

  • Are curious about death and its sacred role in life.

Our Teaching / Learning / Creating Style at La Mort

We leave behind the polished, gate-keepy approach to education. We teach in ways that carry story and experience. We listen. We laugh (a lot). We go off-script sometimes. We cry (with you)(for those you’ve loved)(for those we’ve loved). We like science and studies and logical frameworks, but also mysticism and poetry and all that stuff. We really love to honor history and those who came before. We move through some serious curricula, but don’t take anything too seriously. We dedicate ourselves to seeing you, and want you to feel seen. We deeply honor our intuition and yours. We lead with integrity (always). And we welcome the odd-balls and misfits,  because it takes one to know one.
