A FREE GLOBAL PEN PAL CLUB ❊ MAKE MAGICAL NEW FRIENDS ❊ OPEN TO ALL
This is our love letter to the lost art of letter writing.
Have you ever wanted an IRL pen pal to practice your cursive and exchange letters, art, & poetry with? Us too. After dreaming about this for 30 years, we’re bringing tactile humanity back to the digital world—one handwritten letter at a time. Death Pals is a quiet, creative revolution towards deepening our human connection with one another. Put down the phone, pick up a pen, meet your new best friends.
How it Works
1.) When you sign up below, you’ll gain access to the Death Pals Portal, where you’ll simply fill out a form with your mailing address info, pronouns, and preferences. We keep all of this information 100% confidential and will never share or sell it with anyone aside from your pen pal.
2.) We match you with a pen pal (or maybe two, or three as we grow bigger!).
3.) You write a letter, put a stamp on it, and drop it in the mail, then wait for the magic to arrive back in your mailbox in the form of a handwritten letter.
What do you write about?
You can write about anything - grief, death, love, music, dreams, work, art, the strange and beautiful mess of being alive. Maybe you’ll tuck in a poem, a doodle, a pressed flower, or a super special secret. Maybe you’ll seal the envelope with wax. Be as creative (or traditional) as you like. It’s up to you!
Who is this for?
Death Pals is open to everyone. This is a pen pal club for people who miss handwritten letters, for artists, poets, and dreamers who crave slow, intentional connection, and for death workers and the death-curious who want to connect with new friends.

Our Teaching / Learning / Creating Style at La Mort
We leave behind the polished, gate-keepy approach to education. We teach in ways that carry story and experience. We listen. We laugh (a lot). We go off-script sometimes. We cry (with you)(for those you’ve loved)(for those we’ve loved). We like science and studies and logical frameworks, but also mysticism and poetry and all that stuff. We really love to honor history and those who came before. We move through some serious curricula, but don’t take anything too seriously. We dedicate ourselves to seeing you, and want you to feel seen. We deeply honor our intuition and yours. We lead with integrity (always). And we welcome the odd-balls and misfits, because it takes one to know one.
